Asterdale School Council

This year the school council have hosted stalls after school that have raised money for our wonderful school – our most popular was hot chocolate and cakes!

We have also helped with a Health and Safety survey and re-launched litter picking around the school to help keep it tidy!

Last year, we held a Christmas jumper day to raise money for Save the Children. We gave a £1 donation and raised £264!

In one of our School Council meetings Miss Mann, our school Cook, brought to our attention that some pupils have decided they would like to have a change of our school menu so Miss Mann came and gave us the opportunity to write down some suggestions on what we would like our school menu to become.

This year we wrote to Pauline Latham, our local MP, to see if she could be present at our schools 70th Birthday and luckily she agreed to come and open this special occasion. We are looking forward to meeting her.

Very soon we will be launching a poster competition for our School Platinum Jubilee fayre. The title is “What is Amazing About Asterdale?” We are hoping to display the entries in the hall for everyone to see. There will be a winner for each class and an overall winner.

We have also been working closely with the PTFA and will be helping them run stalls on the day.

As you can see, we are always busy but are here if you need any help, just talk to your class rep.
