Our vision of 'everyday excellence' recognises that every child can grow their 'best of me' through adopting positive attitudes to learning and striving for excellence every day (in every lesson, every time, every child). 

Through promoting our 'Asters' values as part of everyday school life, pupils are supported to grow the skills and character attributes to thrive both in school and in preparation for life in modern day Britain. 

Every member of our Asterdale community has a collective shared responsibility for demanding excellence for all.  This our mission - which is realised through rigorous monitoring of standards and a continual drive for improvement. 

 

About us: 

Asterdale is a one-form entry primary school, situated in Spondon on the outskirts of Derby. Our provision begins in Early Years, where through expert teaching and learning children secure the foundational knowledge and skills to enable them to thrive. 

Asterdale is part of Odyssey Collaborative Trust, established in 2019 - a group of 7 local schools striving together to ensure that every child thrives in our community. 

Asterdale has embarked upon a rapid programme of school improvement since our previous Ofsted inspection (June 23) which has enabled us to further evolve and embed our practices to provide the best possible offer for every child.  

We are proud of our amazing school and our community - where through working together in partnership - everyone is provided with the nurture, education and support required to achieve their best.
